Professional Wood's Lamps

Each version is supplied ready for professional use with: - one professional Wood's Lamp; - four 4 W UV tubes already installed; - one black light-excluding examination hood; - one dedicated user guide in the language of the order; - one application-specific fluorescence colour reference; - one protective packaging box for storage and transport. The user guide and colour-reference information differ between the Beauty Salon and Veterinary versions.

Yes. The skin should be clean, dry and free from make-up, creams, lotions, soap residues and topical products, as these substances may influence fluorescence and lead to misleading observations. To help remove superficial residues and excess sebum, we recommend preparing the skin with IDEALDERM Peeling Lotion, used strictly according to its instructions, preferably on the day before observation. After preparation, ensure that no product residue remains on the skin. If rinsing is required by the product instructions, rinse thoroughly and gently pat the skin dry using a clean, lint-free towel or a disposable nonwoven wipe. Do not rub the skin and do not apply make-up, cream, lotion or another skincare product before observation.

The standard European version is designed for a 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz electrical supply and can be used in European countries with a compatible mains supply and plug connection. Plug adapters for the United Kingdom and Switzerland are available and must be ordered separately from the IDEALDERM online shop. A dedicated version with a US plug and electrical specifications adapted to the United States is available for the US market. Always order the version corresponding to the destination country. A plug adapter changes only the plug format and does not convert the electrical voltage.

Yes. The Wood's Lamp features an integrated magnifying lens positioned centrally between the four UV tubes. This arrangement combines illumination and magnification in the same observation area, making smaller fluorescent details and variations easier to see.

Ambient light can reduce the visibility of fluorescence and make observation more difficult. The supplied black light-excluding examination hood helps reduce external light and improve observation conditions.

No. A colour, contrast or fluorescence pattern alone cannot identify or exclude a disease, infection or microorganism. Any suspicious, persistent or unusual skin alteration should be referred to a qualified physician or dermatologist.

No. Wood's light can help a qualified professional observe certain fluorescent hairs and identify areas for targeted sampling. Not all dermatophytes or affected hairs fluoresce, and the absence of fluorescence does not exclude ringworm or dermatophytosis. Additional methods such as microscopy, fungal culture, PCR or another appropriate veterinary test may be necessary.
